Can't get my uBitX to transmit CW on the Dial frequency
Hi All,
I've been puzzled by this for a while now... Why my uBitX doesn't transmit CW on the frequency on the dial? I'm using Ian's CEC Firmware V1.08. On TX the dial frequency is offset by the amount set in the "CW Tone" menu setting, so I'm really transmitting on the Dial freq. + or - the CW sidetone setting, depending on the mode (CWL or CWU) I understand that is the audio frequency of the sidetone and the audio frequency of a CW signal perfectly at Zero beat, so we need to RECEIVE a few Hz up or down to be able to hear anything on CW but I don't get why it's not transmitting on the dial frequency? Shouldn't all these settings affect just the sidetone and the CW receiving freq? Why is it offsetting the TX freq by that amount of the sidetone? is it a bug? What am I missing here? Thanks Dan. |

I see a lot of post about the Nextion display. What advantages does the if have over the mcufriend displays? Jack, W8TEE

I have a 3.2 ordered and waiting for it to arrive. I am using the 1.08CEC firmware from Dr. Ian and like it a lot. I am adding 8 switches to it. I know the manager has options for 6 but I am adding one for FKEY and momentary toggle for PTT. I would appreciate any information I can get on the Nextion Display. I downloaded the software on the Nextion site but have not loaded it yet to check it out. Thanks Dr Ian for all your great work. 73's kn4ud kn4ud@... -- Allen ?Merrell |

Re: Instruction Manual needs revision
#ubitx
Jon,
Your manual is well written and easy to follow. If setting the calibration and the bfo interact, you may need to add a note in the manual that repeating the setup again may be needed because of the interaction. Because of the various software out there I'm not sure which loads might require this and which might not. I would also put in a note that after power is applied to the ubitx you should probably wait a few minutes (ten maybe?) for everything to temperature stabilize. The crystal for the SI5351 will change frequency slightly as the ambient temperature changes in the case. tim ab0wr On Sat, 02 Jun 2018 13:41:24 -0700 tituskz1g@... wrote: I have attached my first pass at the "MBITX TUNEUP" instruction, and |

First let me thank all who responded to last post, your ideas were a great help putting my uBITX together. I now am at the point where I have no idea how to proceed. I am using a case from Sunils and it really is looking great. ?Shipped were a number of boards that help with the assembled case. ?There is a board for ?USB, D-9, and two other plugs at the rear of the case. ?There is no paperwork to explain this board. ?I have checked the Internet with no luck. ?I would like to hook up but have no idea where to get the connections from. ?Any help would be of great help. Thanks

Re: Variable Power Out
Have you thought about lowering the audio signal you have feeding the
ubitx? I know I can vary the output power a lot with my two-tone generator by just cranking the amplitude pot on the generator up and down. tim ab0wr On Sat, 02 Jun 2018 08:34:42 -0700 "Dennis" <dennis@...> wrote: I have been operating FT8 with the uBITX and in some situations would |
Re: Power supply question
A couple of 5amp or 10amp Silicon diodes (5 watt rating) will give you a
voltage drop of about 1.2v or 12.6v feeding the board. I had to crank up my power supply to 15.1v to get a consistent 12v out of a 7812 feeding the mainboard. tim ab0wr On Sat, 02 Jun 2018 08:25:45 -0700 "KE0GYC" <dragonfanatic90@...> wrote: I believe 13.8 is considered the upper limit for the uBITX main |
