I searched to see if this topic has arisen before, but cannot find anything.?
I upgraded my uBITX with a Nextion screen and added the second Nano for the S-Meter upgrade. I have also added a second 5V regulator to power the Nextion and second Nano.?
All seems fine, except I have found that if I connect the rig to my Mac laptop to run WSJT-X or Mac Logger, as soon as the serial port is opened, I get horrendous noise. FT8 does not work well now, as the rig is just hearing the static.?
I thought it might be the USB cable that connects the Raduino to the port on the rear of the case, so plugged my Mac¡¯s mini USB directly to the Raduino: noise gone.?
I then checked the lead supplied with the uBITX - directly to the Mac from Raduino: again, noise gone.?
This suggests to me that the cause is the small board at the rear of the uBITX to change the mini USB input to a USB output for the internal cable to the Raduino.?
Has anyone else found this, and is the simplest fix just to remove this board and run a USB cable through the redundant hole in the case?
