Try cutting down the mic gain. Probably the RF is getting into the mic line.
I got impatient and put one of these guys ()?in to replace the LM338 so I could run full power and it's working perfectly. I am getting audio reports of a "whooshing" noise on my SSB audio however, described as wind noise or as if I'm operating mobile with the windows down. I've tried both a Baofeng mic and a electret mic with the same results. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? I also feel like I'm hearing the same sound out of the sbitx speaker when I transmit. Unfortunately I didn't try SSB prior to replacing the LM338 so I'm not positive if that in any way contributes to this.?
Tried both USB and LSB on 20 and 80, same report. Made sure to turn off the wifi on the Pi as well. Mic set to 45 and Comp set to 40. It was reported the audio sounded great otherwise, not overmodulated, compression sounded good, just the addition of the wind noise.?
