Pictures of the "bird cage". I have no idea what they are made from but the microwave test did not phase them.
If the losses of toroids is the material, these bobbins are 80 percent air with a little scaffolding to hold the wire.
The "bird cage" has 28turns of 24ga that measured 2.15 uh.
I would appreciate comments, good or bad.
