The trouble is the usb port? of the raspberry pi is a host (computer side), so it isnt possible to connect it to another computer that way.
On the?other hand, we have net rigctl implemented and it works very well. This requires the other computer and sbitx to have ethernet or wifi connectivity between them. You have to choose net rigctl from the drop list and enter the ip address of the sbitx. Thats all there is to it
