That works for a v6, not for any of the earlier uBitx.? For the pre v6, you do need to have a key or paddle connected.? There is not a CW setting on a menu or screen.
For the v3 it can be as easy as just using a jumper wire to key the rig, do not need to set up a true key or paddle.? I did that when first testing my first v4 uBitx.? I did not have a key at that time.
