Make sure you have the mic plugged into the mic jack, and not the keyer jack.? Then select CW on the main screen.? Now when you press your PTT switch on the mic, it should act like a straight key.
From what you are describing, you plugged the mic into the keyer jack.? That was not what I meant in my prior message to use it to test the CW function.? You always keep it in the mic jack.
All of the above assumes that you have a v6 uBITX.
