I built (simple construction) this unit and used it in Berkeley, California to over the summer to test out its capabilities. Using a 20 meter dipole I was able make to contacts on SSB with VK, KL7, KH7, N6 and others on the west coast. I was shielded by the Berkeley Hills from making any contacts to the east. I was able to program the Raduino for two operating systems and the unit was relatively easy to frequency calibrate and center in the audio passband. I improved SSB performance by using a different microphone than the one provided and will include that in the sale. My frequency calibration procedure was to use an SDR receiver to run WSPR and use the waterfall on WSPR to bring the uBitx's trace slowly into the 200 cycle WSPR band and center it. Adjusting by using your ears and tuning a good sounding SSB signal worked as well. For centering the audio, Farhan's web based tuner is quick and accurate. I ran the unit off of a small 12 volt rechargeable motorcycle battery that I purchased when I got there. All great fun, It's a great little rig and was the only radio I could carry with me on the plane.

I'm selling because I won't have time for it for quite a while and my curiosity was satisfied. Maybe I'll buy a future improved model when I have more time.
