Very nice radio, there are a couple of decent groups on FB for this which I am sure you are familiar with already, there are versions with a TFT and waterfall etc, it amazing how easy it is to implement fairly advanced features using this chip and Ricardo's lib. I have already got one soldered on a breakout board, going to try playing around with during the next few days to see if the idea will work.
Interesting idea. You might want to look at the Si4732. Essentially the same but easier to solder. I used the si4732 in my first from scratch build after building the ubitx. You can see it here:?
