in fact.. there's a step missing, as well.

?-- after being logged in to your google account and viewing the bitxmap page, you next click the [Edit] link immediately below where the link to the instructions is displayed.? Then, the entire screen redraws in a new (editing) interface, which then behaves as you describe in your instructions.

I didn't remember that the [Edit] link also had to be selected. Appears to stay set with cookies.? (also the Google login)
So I can see how it would be easy to restart a browser and do your best to provide step by step instructions, but you aren't Starting from the same place a new user would be starting.
That's why beta testers that provide usable feedback are so important, especially to us that are hobby developers.

BTW, I have been playing around with some automation using Selenium in python. (I'm starting on the ground floor for both, without oop understanding)
The generic Live icon is changing Xpath (so I need to figure out how to always select to correct live icon)
Other than that, the simple proof of concept script is working, but with known holes that wouldn't make it main stream robust.
Goggle has blocked login from automation scripts.
My work around at the moment: I start a new Chrome window from the command line with a debugging port enabled (which can be automated) then my simple script works with that port.

Doug,
May I suggest the idea of adding a "Live" Layer to the google map? The idea that the user would add their location when live, and then remove when off.?
This has the benefit of selecting the Layer and see just the live operators.

Rgds,
Gary
