Try this on your Easy Bitx.

Unzip the attached project directory.
Navigate to that project in the Arduino IDE, compile and download to your Nano.
I believe it will just work.

No need to install the appropriate Si5351 library or Rotary library, they are included in the project directory.
The ino file from Sunil does not have "Earnest" in it.
It compiles on my linux host computer, but I have no Easy Bitx to test it on.
I assume the local Si5351.cpp file from 2015 in the work directory will have precedence
over any more current Si5351 library you already have installed.
There is no revision control on changes in the Rotary library on github, I'm hoping the current version just works.

My best guess is that you saw the BFO moving because you had the wrong version of the Si5351 library.
