Re: ??IF Stage doubts??

Thanks for responding with this additional information.
But I still don't know exactly what you are doing.

What is a Raduino V2?
The Easy Bitx manual says it ships with a "Arduino Based Si5351 VFO BFO"
Are you perhaps using a Raduino from HFSignals?
But HFSignals sold the "Raduino" for v3,v4,v5 uBitx's, and now sells "TFT Raduino" for the v6.
Perhaps the V2 refers to the firmware version, or something you see etched in the PCB?

Are you using firmware on the Easy Bitx VFO-BFO board exactly as it was shipped,
or have you loaded? "STOCK"? firmware into it?

Does the receiver work at all?
Did you check to see if it works before you did any mods?

Exactly what frequencies are you seeing on the BFO and VFO?
For example, assumes it powers up tuned to 14.2mhz, what frequency do you measure on BFO and VFO?
If you move that to 14.0mhz, how do those frequencies change?

I still suspect firmware.
Other possible causes might be:
? A short between BFO and VFO wires out of the Si5351, but that should be fairly obvious on the scope.
? An error inside the Si5351, but that seems unlikely
I doubt it is an error on the i2c bus into the Si5351, if that was the case it wouldn't work at all.

We should probably let Sunil make his own code public.
If you wish, you can send the code to me via private message in response to this message
by clicking "Private" at the bottom of your response when using the webpage.

Hi, it is with the STOCK firmware that BFO and VFO are not independent of each other.
With Raduino V2, I have done necessary modifications to
1) Hold the PTT low so the Dial lock goes away
2)VFO pot is smooth
3)Did the necessary changes to have it oscillate to 14Mhz.

I have been provided with the original sketch that Sunil Has. If you guys want it either let him post, or I can do the need ful if no body minds( technically it is open source, right?)

Measurement Apparatus is CADDO 35MHz CRO which is soon going to be upgraded with a MSO or DSO by month end which has 100MHz Bandwidth.
Technique to measure:-

I am not counting the numbers or using ms/div scale to calculate the frequency.
It is common sense that the sinusoidal graph should etiher compress or expand (VOLTAGE TIME) for either BFO or VFO depending on which one is selected.

I tried it with load (ie EBITX CONNECTED TO DDS) and without load (JUST DDS)

If i change bfo, vfo changes too and vice a versa.

Shall post raduinov2 sketch on GIT for E.Bitx.....do let me know what more can be done :)
