the good thing about analog is that you can always improvise. as long as transistors, capacitors, crystals? and resistors are available, analog radios will continue to educate, edify and entertain us. vfo tuning mechanisms are getting tougher to find. but PTOs made from screws are very robust and very stable. have you see dan tayloe's high performance cw transceiver?
