Darwin, sorry that my ideas did not help you. I had the exact same issue with white screen. the display only worked properly when 3.3 volts was applied. 5 volts, white screen. I then found the jumper needed to be put in to operate from 5 volt. There is much knowledge in this group and hopefully someone has the answer. Good luck.
