Generally if I can light a bulb I've been able to talk to someone.
That's complicated by at 10M the power out is generally very poor and the
band is not open.? So for local work you should be heard a few miles away.
However are you listening on the correct frequency as the dial? is very often off
especially if you have not done the calibration and setups (that can lower power
even more!).??
Assuming the meter used is for CB and you are d (they were designed for 3-5W)
your not making much power.
When it comes to uBitx the number of error seen are fairly high.? One was the antenna
connector to the board backward, ground to center pin and what should have gone to
center pin to ground!
Other cases the 12V lead that's supposed to power the finals is separate so if the
connector is bad or the wire is not going to +12 it receives and generally works
but NO POWER.
For a lot of first timers no idea of normal or what it should look like is a big issue.
If its working at all the power out will be greatest on 80 or 40, normal being 10W
or there abouts.
