Gentlemen,
We need to think in terms of component availability as well. The I2C display is most difficult of the options that we have. The 16x2 LCD display is the most common (with 4 bit parallel interface), followed by 20x4 LCD (interface).?
Jack, will you take care to wrap the display routines so we can switch the display type?
Sam, what kind of connector will you have between the controller and the pressure gauge? The pressure gauge will be inside the pressured space and we will need to bring the wires out. As the pressure differential is not much, we can make do with some kind of sealed connector. Given the low pressure differential, I would imagine that a 9 pin (RS-232 kind of) connecto should work. We can bring out A5, A5, Ground and?+5v. This will allow us to use either analog or I2C sensor.?
Sam, we will also need a battery backup. I would strongly suggest a sealed lead acid batter. it has a long life and it can withstand bad charging methods. Or we can use NiCad cells, your call (I strongly oppose LiPo as they are a hazard)
Lemme? know these decisions and I will build them into the box.

I vote to moving these discussions to a separate group. Jack, will you be able to create a new group? It is best to take this discussion into that.

Jerry,

It's not that big a problem for me, I have no need to try and force my opinion on others - I simply shared my opinion, and when challenged, I responded.

As I said, I'm just one of 7,833 members of this group - my opinion only represents 1/7,833 of the members.

Thanks,
