Just finished assembling the V6 full kit. ?Something must be wrong because when I attached a LifePo battery and applied power there was no smoke. ?The display worked, the encoder worked. ?I¡¯m sure some gremlin will has something in store for me.?
I still need to hook it up to an antenna and adjust things, but from the initial power on, I noticed I had to crank the volume up all the way to hear even noise. ?There were a number of birdies on the lower end of 40 meters, but they weren¡¯t loud. I don¡¯t expect a lot of volume, and yes I am of a certain age, but so far I haven¡¯t needed hearing aids. ?
I am trying to hunt down my ear phones (they do tend to take tours of the house) and will try them in the earphone jack. ?However, outside of adding a pre-amp, is there anything anyone has found I can try?
