My unit came with only one jack with the 2.2K resistor and a 10 K
resistor connected to the Tip and Ring with the J4 sleeve ground.
I don't have an extra 2nd jack installed in mine connected with
Tip Sleeve providing a direct ground to the keyer input pin. The
only description I had wrt straight key was to use the Mic
connection and connect the hand key to the PTT line which is
different point than the keyer line and might definitely be a
source of aggravation lag from key down to RF output timing.
