That's a valid concern. I would expect that anybody who sent a hashtag-less email would get an immediate reply from the server telling them they need to re-send their email with a hashtag in the subject line, but if the server drops the message silently, that would be a real problem. I don't know which of these scenarios is the real one, but it would definitely be good to find out before turning that feature on.
