please post a link or other info with a schematic of that adapter board - we have enough experienced eyes to examine (me I would compare it to other circuits to see if a critical part may be missing.? the ubitx intentionally does not have a lot of gain until the audio amplifier.? I still suggest confirming all the wiring at the volume control (as the designer suggests) to make sure nothing is astray here.?
do examine how close these broadcast stations might be - I was even surprised when the other op mentioned aroud 5 miles (12 or so km) - I do remember building a simple direct conversion receiver (and not very good construction) - I could get 40m CW, 40m AM (from a different frequency) and medium wave all at the same time.? lesson learned - building a radio takes patience - I hope each of you find the issues to enjoy this nice transceiver!? last night I did SSB from eastern USA to Canary Islands on 40m with it - with scarce ions.?
