The 2.8 size is likely not the problem. You need to have the display driver (e.g., ILI9341) on the display match the library used to process the code. Check to see if the display you ordered matches the library being used by the software.

I have double checked that I have the right firmware and the device is truly a 2.8. The difference between the two is that the firmware model number has R at the end and the device does not.?
