Re: uBITX error

It is not clear from you initial message where you are applying the 5-6 volts and the 13.8 volts.? If both are at the normal 12vdc input to the rig, then the Raduino voltage regulator is shorted.? Need to correct the short, or replace the 7805 regulator.? You have also probably toasted the Nano if you varied the voltage at the input to the rig.

To check if the Raduino is OK, I would first try disconnecting the Raduino and powering from a PC or other 5vdc USB source through the Nano miniUSB connector on the Nano and verify that the Raduino works.? If it does not, then you will need to verify if the Nano is still OK.

I would verify that you do have 5vdc on the Nano (?when connected to the USB power source.? If not, then take the Nano out of the Raduino (it is socketed).? Check again for the 5vdc on the Nano.? If not there, Then the Nano is toast, and you need to find out if the voltage regulator in the Raduino shorted and took out the Nano.

The above assumes that you were applying power to the power input to the rig.? If not, then we need more information to help resolve the issue.? Pictures of the Raduino mounted in the uBitx to show the wiring would be helpful, as there may be a wiring error.

Please use your own judgement when using the above.? I have done the tests without issue, however your experience may be different.? There may be better ways to isolate the problem.
