Try one of the CARS nets on 40m during the mornings. SouthCARS is on 7251, EastCARS is on 7255, and MidCARS is on 7258, all running at least from 8-12 every day. The NCS stations listen for mobiles and QRP stations and are located in various areas, changing every hour, so the chance of connecting with one or being heard by a relay station is pretty good. I've even checked in to these running my BitX40 mobile with good results. Remember that many of the NCSs run power as a help to mobiles, so if they don't hear you well, don't be discouraged, but they do try.
