I have the BitX 40, worked out of the box, done a few mods, good delivery time, I certainly couldn't afford any of the commercial rigs, the support group has been fantastic, more people than you could ever expect to pitch in & help you trouble shoot or do mods, far better in fact as regards after sales service than any high street radio shop that I've ever heard of! I sincerely wish someone else takes up bitx40 production. There is no copyright over any aspect. I am willing to work with you to help you produce and supply this at a better price and better customer support.
