Randy, please DONT give power supply morethan 12or 12.5v
If you have 13.8 only, try to? put two diodes 1n5408 in series and connect on positive line in series. While taking loD it would reduceto 12.4.?
The best is to Djust 13.8tosay 12 or12.5in supply itself.
