I once was very much interested in 6m AM/SSB mobile, and I'm
presently very much interested in 2m SSB, but there is almost NO
activity in central Florida (at least this area) - and my antenna
setup isn't the greatest right now.? (I used to have two 2m SSB
mobile rigs plus one for parts, but they were destroyed in a
fire.)
I'd always wanted to build a 6m mobile AM rig (using simple
circuits and AM chip), but no interest whatsoever from any others
in the area.? If I can ever finish my degree, I hope to escape
this area - and maybe even find a place where the amateur interest
is in homebrew, vhf/uhf (not repeaters - although they're
useful) and ragchewing (NO politics or religion).
That's a good tip about the exhaust pipe.? I remember reading
about that some time ago, although I've checked the other grounds
(all good from a RF standpoint, except for the doghouse which is
fixed).? I may also throw a nice big ground strap on the tailpipe
as well!

Has anyone here ever looked at? ??
????
That site has more info for the mobile ham than several others
combined.
I've been mobile on 6&2M SSB for near 20 years.? Simple fixes
works
best but grounding the tail pipe is easy and often keeps the RF
under
the hood (also grounded).? Location of the antenna counts too!
