Re: Mic pin voltage

Hello Raj

So both V4 and V5 show about 5v only on the Violet wire for the MIC
pin when I press PTT and go into TX.
I am measuring between the MIC pin and ground when I see about 5v.

Are you seeing 10v when you press PTT and measure. Is that 10v
Peak-to-Peak between the PTT pin and the MIC pin
i.e. -5v to +5v

I will re-calibrate the BFO as well

Hello Raj

I am checking, I know the electret was correctly polarized on the V4.
I will test with it disconnected and just enabling PTT. I need to put
the V5 back in and check.
The reason I started looking into this was my audio gain was very low
with the mic.
In fact almost no signal seen when talking into the Mike, only visible
with a loud whistle on the scope.

Thanks
Laurence

Laurence,

You should see about 10V approx.

I think your electret mic polarity is wrong. The solder pad connected to the can of the mic is -ve or grounded.

Hello

What is the expected mic pin voltage when you press PTT on a v4 and V5 board.
I am seeing 4.8v on V5 seems low to me. The V4 was about 5.2v.

Thanks
Laurence
