Re: Bluetooth CAT control??

Silicon Labs has a Bluetooth starter kit (SLEXP8027A) that provides a BT module, instructions and a USB cable. ?I used two of these boards and communicated back and forth with ASCII characters. ?This would provide a way to communicate with transceivers that have a USB port, or a serial port. ?The board includes a standard serial-yo-USN converter, so the serial RX and TX signals are also available. ?The documentation took a while to work through. ?If anyone has a serious interest I can share the setup information that lets two modules communicate back and forth. ?I used a terminal program on a Windows PC. ?I'll be back in the shack after the Thanksgiving weekend and can respond then. ?In the meantime, see Silicon Labs application note AN1157, "DEVELOPING PRODUCTS USING BLUETOOTH XPRESS."

The Bluetooth modules cannot pass audio information; that is act like a wireless USB-to-USB bridge. ?I'm looking into WiFI-to-WiFi Direct and plan to set up a link if possible. ?Back to the lab soon...

Happy Thanksgiving.
