we are doing a group build here - using that case.? yes it is a bit of a snipe hunt!? do use the paper instructions, and visit ubitx.com which is managed by VU3SUA - he has some additional pictures there, and an assembly video there by another ham.?
a few key tips --
remove the front panel from the case.? trace color of wires using those pictures.? the bi-color LED is soldered to spots on the BOTTOM of the circuit board - I may have found this detail on line.? that front panel board with the 3 audio connectors is the main hub for case I/O.? that rear panel board with the digital I/O isn't needed right away (mine isn't installed yet).?
I am using the 4 pin connector for my microphone (I recycled an old speaker mike I had for now).?
Been using the ubitx for only a few days.? Worked several stations in CQWW.? the CW works once you get used to it - the straight key function is plug-and-play, paddle operation is not - it requires some extra series resistors to recognize dit and dah.?
email me direct if you get in a bind - I was beside myself a couple times at least trying to figure things out.? oh yes - it will require some not-so-hard mods to clean up the spurious.? success has been demonstrated by one of our club members.?
I am using my ubitx stock except for adding a NESCAF external audio filter to help with receiving.? Given how easily stations are copying me on SSB, the audio must be effective.?
