Why?

I believe the answer is yes, but cooling is still an issue and the higher power is barely twice.

That said I have a backup amp that runs a pair of IRF510s at 28V that has proven reliable
though the heat sink is nearly as large as the uBitx board.? Nominal power with 1W of drive
is about 50W on 80 and 40 dropping to 37W on 10M.??

That said the driver stage does not provide more power as it runs at nominal 12V (dont try 24!)
so the increase in power is driver power limited.
