Max,
I have a cheap H.F. IR meter and works well for the money, I recommend for the tool box in general.?
Read up on how the sensor works.? This may work good enough for what you are trying to measure, and it's easy.
I use a low budget Thermocouple Thermometer for measuring case temperatures. ($22.79)
I have different thermocouples. I have a metal probe one for a manually held contact measurement, akin to lick your finger and touch.
I also have some?Max 31856 thermocouple amplifier boards, that I use for data logging, remote monitoring, control ($17.50)
There are cheaper sources for this.? I needed mine in a hurry for a last minute project.
Thermocouple placement is critical for the most accurate temperature measurement.
BTW, the Kinetis micros used on the Teensy have an on chip thermal sensor.? This maybe a handy feature for some.
It has been useful for me.
Regards,
Gary
