Just my experience: You can make this rig whatever you want.? I built the Bitx40 and it worked fine so you could stop there and have a nice little rig.? And, this group is a good place to talk about operational issues.? Of course, some of us can't leave well enough alone.? So, it is is a great rig for those folks as well.? Inevitably, the latter group is going to smoke something or need some help and this group is an ideal place for that as well.? I agree with Jack, there likely are a lot of folks happily hamming along without a peep.

News, by definition, is what is different and unusual and that's what you see on this Forum. My guess is that there are over 5,000 ?BITX's in the field now, and perhaps a dozen or so "issues" posted each day, many of which have already been addressed.? So for every 50 "issue posts" you see here, there are 4950 others who are tickled pink over the rig and just don't take the time away from the radio to tell us that.

I'm one of them.

Hello George,

I have been using both my Bitx40 and uBitx on the air.? I had two CW QSO's yesterday afternoon on 40 meters using the uBitx.
I have been Blessed or Lucky, that nothing has smoked or any issues that could not be solved.? It's a fun radio, and learning is
part of using it.? Plus, should you have any problems, this group helps everyone no matter what the issue might be.

73 and give it a try,? Jeff K9JP

I like the idea of this radio. I like the price. But, is this the kind of thing you build, connect to my antenna tuner and start working. When I read the group it never seems that anyone just uses the radio. It seems there is always something that has to be done or something smokes and has to be replaced.?
