Did you notice any smoke or fireworks around the vicinity of the TDA2822?? Use a magnifier to examine the chip - any cracks or burned places?? If not attach a speaker directly to pins 7 and 8 of the uBitx board (the speaker connections) and try again.? If still no audio it could be the TDA2822.
