Re: The issues of the TDA2822

Probably a good idea.

I can think of several devices which I don't expect to disappear
anytime soon, like the LM324. Or even the JRD audio chips
or the NE5532. I am sure the guitar repair people are full of ideas
as well; they deal with this sort of thing all the time.

Still, I like the idea of a daughterboard which can be interfaced
to the motherboard with little more than adaptive pins, and possibly
additional wiring for adding an AVC or whatever...that is more in keeping
with the BITX idea (think of Sunil and his work) -- but it does go a bit out of the territory of modern
ham trends. In fact, though, it has already been done by adapting a DDS to the VFO
design. Look where that has gotten us. By the time we have gotten around
to the Teensy 3, we will be half way to a SDR. (Hi. Get ready, Arv.)

It is fascinating that the QCX has been so successful at the same time as
the newer BITX'ers are going in a different direction. These new hams are
phenomenal in their own right.

Whatever HF Signals comes up with is sure to be a hit with the BITX'ers.
So...go for it.
