around has been on BitX and with interrupts.? Using Encoder
library.
Maybe you could
experiment by making a sketch by stripping out from uBit code
that just includes reading the encoder in the main loop?
Turn Leds on with
direction?? See if you can duplicate your problems?

I do agree the suggestion of Mike to use 0.01uF . If you use 0.1
perhaps the capacitor recovery time will not allow you rotate faster.
