I figured as much which is why I didn't push disconnecting the antenna.

Thanks Gordon????
Yes, I'm exceedingly cautious. Look at it from my perspective, guys: I've
been a ham for about 3 months. When I got into ham radio, I didn't even
know what Flux was. I could solder two wires together, but it'd take me
about 30 minutes and I'd get melted solder everywhere.
I bought a soldering kit when I was studying for tech and general. I
taught myself how to solder using YouTube videos and learned how to solder
surface mount and on pcbs in general???? I then repaired a broken Yaesu
VX-6R by replacing a ceramic filter.
I studied for extra, passed, and thought I might be ready for something
like this. Clearly, I was wrong.....well, no...I won't say that. I will
say that clearly I didn't have the skills to troubleshoot one of
these....but, if I didn't start somewhere, then I'd never have those
skills. So here I am.
4 months ago, soldering 2 wires together was almost too difficult.?? I
think it's understandable that I'm afraid to do anything at this
point...afraid I'll mess even more things up, because I don't know if this
is my fault or not
