It is hanging in the air about an inch above anything...supported only by the USB port. I do this with all my little boards if I can...make sure they can't get grounded in bad places.

Yes...I did this AFTER I reported here. So, it worked the night before last, Farhan's sketch failed, Gordon's sketch failed, then I retried the 25Mhz sketch and it worked again. Note that I loaded and tried all these sketches one after another without physically touching the raduino. If it failed, I'd unplug the usb and plug it back in to restart the raduino, but I wouldn't touch the raduino itself...only the USB it was dangling from.
