I still have my K&R "borrowed" from my company's tech library decades ago. Return was made moot by the library closing. However, I did return the Knuth.? I also have several of Jack's books I bought.

It seems that the Arduino lacks a debug sandbox for development code to run in. Perhaps some clever person well create an Arduino emulator that fills the bill.
