You should certainly build it.
If nothing else, it should make a fine code practice oscillator.
And would likely work ok for sending CW out the Bitx40 if you hook it up to the
microphone input and adjust the level out of the oscillator to something like 100mv pk-to-pk.
But I think Allard's mods would be an easier way to get CW functionality.
In his mods, your oscillator is replaced by a single 10k resistor, key down somehow?
applies 5v to one end of the resistor and the other end of the resistor is tied to C107.
If you update to Allard's firmware plus a few more hardware mods,
you also get an electronic keyer and automatic transmit/receive switching.
