The CB I'm converting to 10M uses a 400 pulse encoder and I put a 2.5" dia
aluminum knob on it (homemade turned and knurled) so one good spin and it
goes for quite a while.

Unfortunately the manual is in Chinese, but does show that it generates
standard quadrature pulses.
