The supply to an MMIC should be thought of as a current source. ?If you feed an MAR-3 through a 200 ohm dropping resistor from 12v, it will draw approximately (12-5)/200 = 35ma, and that output/power port will have something around 5v on it. ?If you drive the output hard at 5v (through an inductor) it may smoke, as the voltage your particular part wants at your particular temperature might be 4.5v. ??
