Re: Still Not Working

Well guys, things just took a turn for the worse. In an effort to see if RV1 and R136 made a difference before I got in and took some voltage reading and plotted them on the voltage reading chart I put my QRP power meter on the Bitx and started to adjust both of these pots. I had the QRP meter connected to my Fluke meter like I do on a nearly daily basis with my FT-817 while I'm adjusting the power down to 200mW for WSPR using the SignaLink. I was using a Spectrol insulated screwdriver. Neither pot seemed to make a difference.?

When I looked down at the display I noticed that the top row of the display had solid black blocks. Nothing that I did inside the radio was shorted out by me. I cycled the power a few times and the blocks didn't go away. I disconnected the power supply and plugged in the Arduino to my laptop. The laptop no longer communicates to the Raduino.?

The only differnce was that I used my 13.8v Samlex power supply instead of the 12v wall wort that I had been using. The power supply was turned on first, the radio was plugged in and then turned on. It's not like I had the radio on and then turned on the power supply.?

So I'm at a turning point. I have a defective board and now what appears to be a defective Radrio. I either cut me losses or buy a new kit. Buying a new won't break me but spending more money with these guys is the struggle.?

The anount of equipment that I've worked on in my line of work would be mind boggling to most. I've really never had one product that gave me this many problems. I'm sure many people will think "you had to do something for this to happen". I don't see it that way.?

I'm not going to start another rant. Surely I can't be the only person that's had this type of experience. I'll leave it at that.?
