Re: TX lockup on LSB PTT after CW mods (was Very high clicks after cw wiring)

Ok I had some time today to do some debugging on my "TX/RX lockup issue" and the presumably related "no output on CW".

I lifted one leg of the 2N3904 that I am using for the TX/RX mod and tried using PTT in LSB and it worked fine (no lockup).
I also tried closing the PTT and the CW Key?and I am getting 5W CW out into a dummy load so obviously the issue is with the TX/RX mod. ?

Rather than attaching the transistor to the?PTT jack I chose to build the circuit with the 4.7K resistor and the 2N3904 transistor on a small piece of
single-sided PCB?using "Manhattan-style" building with MEpads from QRPME (). ?What I didn't realize is that I had inadvertently
soldered the wires connecting to the?collector and emitter to the wrong connections on PTT jack. Normally that wouldn't matter (it's just a jack) but it also connects to the PTT circuit on?the main board and that has positive and negative wires and I got it wrong. ?So in this case the end result was exactly as if I had the transistor orientation backwards (even though it wasn't physically, it was electrically), ?which?is what Allard suggested the problem was. ?

Many thanks for the help. ?

Cheers
