Ross,
Normally when you press the Function Button 4 times scanning should start.
The bottom line on the display should then read "freq scanning".
Scanning will normally stop when:
- the tuning pot is turned, or
- the ptt button is pressed, or
- the morse key goes down
Is perhaps your tuning pot noisy? Is it the standard 1-turn pot or do you
use a multi-turn type?
Did you install the PTTsense wire?
Is your power supply stable without noise?
Are there any other users who have problems with the scan mode?
