For me, it's a bad-habit thing. If I get used to having two power sources connected, some day, just as sure as I"m sitting here, I'm going to plug in two power sources and get a min-Fourth of July show as I watch the magic white smoke that runs all electronic devices evaporate in front of me. I just think that, unless explicit told to do so, I just prefer to have a single power source. the usb port is defined in the Arduino Nano schematic...
