Try this.
Go to Windows Control Panel and then to Device Manager go down to Ports and expand the list.? With the nano disconnected note the list of ports.? Then plug the nano (powered up) into your computer USB port and notice which new port is added to the list.? This should be the port to select in the Arduino IDE.? If no new port shows up you may not have the necessary drivers loaded.
