Re: Easi link for audio connection - BITX40 and Digital mode

Hi

I was using my Easy Digi card to interface my iPhone to my BITX40.?

I built a couple of these to interface HTs to iPhones when I was playing around with 2M SSTV.

I posted two videos about this interface. ? ?

So, I was using the interface with my iPhone for some transmitter testing. I did using a spectrum analyzer?on his phone to look at receiver bandwidth. So, I wondered if there were any function generators for the iPhone. I found this . It has tones, sweeps, and noise generators. I did pay the extra couple of $$s to use the noise and sweep generators.? I used the noise generator to transmit through the BITX40 and viewed the result on my K3/P3.

I have also used a couple of resistors 47K/1K as a resistor voltage divider followed by a .15 uF cap in series feed the BITX40 from the iPhone.

I haven't tried using the Easy Digi interface for any of the digital modes, yet. I think PSK may work with the BITX40 using LSB. PSK doesn't care about LSB/USB, except for figuring out what frequency you are using.

I also wired up a toggle RV/XMIT switch across the PTT button, to free up a hand during testing.

Have fun,

I came across a thread discussing the Easy Digi circuit for connecting to the radio audio.

Has anyone in the group investigated the use of the bitx40 for digital modes further?

These are friggin long links :)
