Also, as a past RadioShack repair technician,? I would like to suggest a can of freeze spray and a TINY heat torch to assist with troubleshooting poor connections and heat related failures. Many times you can change temperature in an area and the problem comes and goes, simplifying the process.

Once I would transmit the problem would go away then start to fade until I would key the transmitter. I could run a few watts of power to have it clear up. Drove me nuts for a while.
