There is a lot to be said for the K1EL keyers.? They also have
memory capability, so that it may be possible to move this over to
the keyer, delete it from the sBIT and free up some screen space.

This is precisely why I have repeatedly suggested the use of
an external Keyer such as the K1EL Keyers which have Both
Lead-In Timing and Tail-Timer settings. These are common factors
we used in the days of the Separate Tube Transmitter and Tube
Receivers where with out using lead-in timing you would hear a
very distinct timing shift of the transmitted signal similarly
the Receiver required time to recover before Turing it back on
or you would risk serious overload of the front end. While
improving the internal timing to improve the internal CW Keyer
it is only part of the issue. We need to rethink the keying on
and off of the transmitter and the turning on and off of the
receiver. This is all very old school technology which many have
assumed physics has changed with the advent of transistors,
solid state chips and the use of a processor to control the
transceiver. Also you must remember how many activities with in
the Transceiver are also demanding computer timing all at the
same time. Even with GPIO interrupts there is a finite limit of
what can be done. just because other Commercial Transceiver are
doing it, remember the price being paid for these commercial
transceivers. There are only so many hours in a day and realize
who is actually doing the programming and who is doing the fault
tracing within the SBitX community. It you want the support that
comes with an $8,000 transceiver but are only paying $400 for
your transceiver then please give your head a shake and realize
the extremely dedicated people behind the development of the
SBitX Transceiver are working much harder then the people behind
the $8000 transceiver and receiving far less pay and recognition
for their efforts. I worked in the industry and know full well
the pressure. the people behind the scenes of the XBitX are
doing an incredible job, they are responsive, they are polite,
they are also extremely humble about their accomplishments. I
for one live on a fixed retirement income and while emotionally
I want everything yesterday my finances are struggling to get by
in the moment. It can tell you there is more month than money in
my bank account. BE PATIENT, BE KIND!?
