Re: Advice and Opinions on the next iteration of the sBitx

You can still do that with the sbitx. Disconnect the screen. You can also take out the board and mount it in an outdoor box

Pete, I understand that web control & operation is possible from anywhere using a browser.

However what I was alluding to - having the radio without the screen or controls (black box) that could be left outside in a weather sealed cabinet with only a LAN cable leading indoors or WLAN - and a "detachable" panel with screen and controls that could be plugged into the LAN in the house.

My current apartment QTH is limited to what I can deploy. Without ripping up the floors, the only way to get the coax inside is leaving the balcony doors open with the antenna cable strewn all over the living room, which is barely XYL tolerable and in winter / situations like currently in Israel leaving me off the air. I will say for the record that the antenna (Chameleon quad hub with paired Hamsticks) does a decent job - I even had long path QSOs from Tel Aviv to Australia with 80W on my 7300. I just picked up a TS480 and searching for RemoteRig to run split over LAN and get back on the air since the situation here has no end in sight.
